This policy explains how we process personal data when you visit ericstandop.com or contact us through the website. It applies to the German and English pages of this domain. Third-party websites linked from our pages have their own privacy policies.
1. Controller and contact
Face Language & Recognition GmbH
Schweriner Str. 4 a
76344 Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen
Germany
Represented by Eric Hermann Standop
You can contact us about privacy or exercise your rights at office@facereading-academy.com or by writing to the address above.
2. Providing the website
When you visit the website, technical connection data is processed. This includes, in particular, your IP address, the time and address of the requested page, and browser and device information. We process this data to deliver the website, resolve errors and protect its security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is operating a secure and functional website.
The website is provided by Webflow, Inc., 398 11th Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Webflow uses Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and content delivery networks, among others, to deliver the website. Data may therefore be processed in the United States. Webflow states that it participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Further information is available in Webflow’s EU privacy policy and data processing agreement. Technical server logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s retention rules and deleted when no longer needed for operation and security.
3. Contact and mentorship forms
You can send us an enquiry through the contact and mentorship forms. We process your name, email address, message and, where applicable, the type of mentorship selected. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and prepare a possible working relationship. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns a potential contract. For general enquiries, it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is responding to messages addressed to us.
The information is stored in the website’s Webflow account. A notification is sent to our mailbox hosted by webgo GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. Webflow uses Mailjet, among others, to send such notifications. We generally delete submissions in Webflow and copies in the mailbox after twelve months, unless an ongoing relationship or legal obligation requires longer retention.
Please do not submit health information or other particularly sensitive data through the general contact form unless necessary for your enquiry.
4. Email reminder for “Lies dich selbst”
On the book page, you can provide your email address to receive a message when the book is released and, where applicable, when a sample is available. We use your address for these announced messages. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time for the future by emailing office@facereading-academy.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before that point.
Your registration is stored as a Webflow form submission and a notification is sent to our mailbox. No automatic confirmation email is sent. Form submissions and mailbox copies are generally deleted after twelve months unless they are still needed to document consent or comply with legal obligations.
5. Visitor statistics with Rybbit
We use Rybbit to understand and improve use of our website. Con Radius Design operates Rybbit on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. Con Radius Design may access the data from the United States for operation and maintenance.
The data recorded includes the time, page URL including query parameters, page title, referring page, browser, operating system, device type, screen resolution and browser language. Location and internet service provider are derived from the IP address; according to the operator, the IP address itself is not stored. A daily changing identifier associates visits within one day. Certain events are also recorded, such as link clicks and successful form submissions. Form field contents are not sent to Rybbit. Session replay and persistent Rybbit identifiers on your device are disabled. Statistics are retained for twelve months.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is measuring reach and improving our website. You can object to this processing by contacting office@facereading-academy.com. You can also use the “Visitor statistics” switch in the cookie settings. To remember your decision in the browser, the disable-rybbit entry is stored locally.
6. Adobe Fonts
For consistent presentation, we load the “regulator-nova” font through Adobe Fonts (use.typekit.net). Adobe receives technical connection data, including your IP address, browser information and the address of the page visited. Adobe states that it does not set cookies to serve web fonts and does not store the IP address. Adobe processes font usage information for licensing and billing, among other purposes. Delivery may take place through servers outside the EEA. Our legal basis for embedding the font is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our interest is consistent presentation of the website.
7. Website chat
A chat widget operated by Con Radius Design is loaded on our pages. When its script loads, the chat server receives technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information. The server is hosted by Hetzner in Falkenstein, Germany; access by Con Radius Design from the United States is possible. Opening the chat transmits a session number, the page visited and the referring page.
If you send a message after acknowledging the notice in the chat, it is passed through the chat server to the OpenAI API to generate an answer. This may involve processing in the United States. According to OpenAI’s information about API data, API content is not used to train models by default; abuse monitoring logs are generally retained for up to 30 days. Chat histories on the Con Radius Design server are deleted after three months. We process your message to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if you enquire about a service, or otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our interest in responding to enquiries. Please do not enter health information or other particularly sensitive information into the chat.
8. Cookie settings and Meta Pixel
We use our own consent banner for the Meta Pixel. It stores your decision, a version number and a timestamp under crd-consent in your browser’s local storage. The choice applies to both language versions of this domain and is not sent to a third-party banner provider. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Meta Pixel and retargeting: The Meta Pixel loads only after you consent to marketing. It is provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It will record page views across this domain, visits to the “Lies dich selbst” book page and clicks on its order links, including the retailer selected. This lets us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and show ads again on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited our website. Purchases made with a retailer are not recorded. We do not use a server-side Conversions API for this purpose.
When the Pixel is used, data sent to Meta may include your IP address, browser and device information, page visited, time, identifiers and the events described above. Meta may associate the information with a Meta account; processing in the United States is possible. Storage or access on your device that is not strictly necessary, and the related processing of personal data, are based on your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent through “Cookie settings” at any time for the future. You may also object to the use of your data for direct marketing. Further information is available in Meta’s privacy policy.
9. Links to other services
Our website links to cal.eu for booking appointments, book retailers, the Facereading Academy and social networks. These services are linked rather than embedded. You connect to the respective provider only when you click a link. Its own privacy policy applies to processing on its website. Some Amazon links include an affiliate identifier, which can attribute a referral to the operator of this website.
10. Retention and international transfers
Where no specific period is stated, we retain personal data only for as long as needed for the relevant purpose or to comply with legal retention duties. Recipients include the service providers named above and personnel handling the relevant matter. Where providers in or access from the United States are involved, the applicable adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards, particularly standard contractual clauses, apply.
11. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
Contact us at office@facereading-academy.com to exercise your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
